Yesterday, was wash day with Eden Body Works.
When Sparkle was a baby, her Godmother, did her first hair do, a braid out. Jesus I remember that day so well, first time I experienced how tender headed she is. At the time, she had that baby fro, soft hair, curls starting to form and shape her little had. It was cute! Since I already went through trial and error with SJ’s hair, I knew what to do and what not to do. So when it came to Sparkle’s hair the most I did was co-wash it and add some coconut oil to it. That’s it. Did that for at least 6 months.
Sparkle cried so much that day, I felt horrible. Promised myself, I wouldn’t put her through that again. Which prompted me to just leave her hair wild and free, tamed but free. Once a week, I would do something and that’s it. Why put myself and her through all of that?
A couple of months ago, I attended a beauty event and received new products from Eden Body Works, the co-wash, conditioner and curling jelly from their new coconut line. Since I found a regimen that works for us, trying new things never interest me. Its like OK, I know what works, let me just stick to it. But something said at least try the co-wash. Wouldn’t you know, its one of my favorites for her hair now. It truly gives the hair a good cleanse without stripping the moisture out.The slip is amazing as well, can even finger- detangle with it in. I would say, I was not a fan of the conditioner. It mae her hair a tab bit hard when I washed it out. So probably won’t use that again. Her hair does much better with the Aussie conditioner we use. I’m assuming because of her texture she needs a conditioner that makes her hair soft while moisturizing at the same time.
This time around after I rinsed her hair, applied her leave in conditioner, mixed with a olive oil + castor oil mix. My MIL actually told me to try that, to help with the growth and thickness of my hair after my big chop. It works really well! If you follow me on my own instagram account you can see how fast my hair is growing. Definitely contribute the oil mix plus keeping my hands out of to the growth.
Not that I am trying to add any thickness to her hair, but would like to see some more growth.
Stay tuned for her the results from the braid out.
